Fun Athens Experience

Had a great time! Our guide Tassos obviously loves what he does. The food choices showed a variety of Athens/ Greek food and drink, including the best souvlaki I’ve ever had. Definitely recommended.

Wonderful tour with an amazing guide! We had many traditional tastings including pastry pies, meats, olives, coffee & gyros. Also a trip through the fresh produce & meat markets. Our guide went out of his way to connect with us and provide local history and recommendations for other activities during our stay in Athens. Absolutely fantastic!

Authentically Athens, not just a food tour.

Tassos was great! Knowledgeable, friendly and fun! We got a complete feel for the city through food, history and places we would not have found ourselves in just a days time. I can honestly say we experienced Athens authentically because of Tassos. Thanks again!

Best tour ever!

The tour was excellent. We got so much side information, which makes you connect more to Athens and Greece. Tassos was very open and chatty. We were walking along and through many places and eyerywhere he knew a story to tell. It was great fun and time was passing by so quickly even though we overran the schedule.

Cannot recommend enough. Amazing.

To say we loved it is an understatement. Touring with Tassos felt like visiting an old friend. He's knowledgable, personable, and showed us all the hidden gems tucked away while other tourists waited in long lines for other mediocre options. Tassos has the best stories, is hilarious, and is just a really nice guy. I'd recommend this tour to my friends, parents, big groups, small groups-- anyone. Cannot endorse enough.

Athens + food + tour guide = a great morning

Our "small tour" with just my wife and I was great. Tassos Tsikontouris was a great guide and storyteller, the food was great (although I'm still not a fan of Greek/Turkish coffee, or any other coffee for that matter), and the city did not disappoint. (Sorry it took so long to submit the review, it completely slipped my mind until I found Tassos' business card in my luggage.)

A highly entertaining and educational peek into the inner workings of Athenian gastronomy. Anastasios (Tassos) was fun and very tasty, lol, I mean tasteful in his descriptions. We would highly recommend!

Excellent Food Tour!

We had a brilliant time on our food tour with Tassos! We was so helpful, friendly and lovely, it felt like strolling around catching up with an old friend! The food was delicious and there was so much to eat, we came away with enough to have some left over for later! My personal favourite was either the souvlaki or the bougatsa, but everything was delicious! As well as the great food Tassos gave us lots of great info about Athens, history, good spots to try out and just about life in Greece in general! Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone as it was the highlight of our stay in Athens!

Fantastic Tour, well worth it!

Tassos was a fantastic tour guide, very friendly & knowledgable of the best local foods & history. The quality of the food on the tour was fantastic & he shows you all the best & most traditional spots. He was patient and even taught us a little bit of Greek. The amount of food you get on the tour is well worth the price and we also came away with goodie bags from our stops of nuts & fruit. Highly recommend this tour & Tassos as your tour guide! Highly recommend

Tassos was terrific! He was very knowledgeable and had many entertaining stories. The food places he brought us to were very interesting (and delicious). The tour gave us a good overview of the area. Highly recommend!

Beyond our expectations

We met Tassos exactly at time and place, and were fortunate enough that his one other couple had cancelled. So the two of us were his entire “group”! He gave us his full tour, with consideration to our walking pace, and was very informative about the great variety of foods he bought for us, pretzels, nuts, fruits, olives, pies, donuts and Greek coffee, meats & cheeses, and a fantastic gyro for lunch. Tassos’ english is very good as he speaks multiple languages and has traveled extensivelly.

Amazing food tour

Everything about the trip was wonderful. Tassos my guide was very passionate about his city and the wonderful food places we visited. He also gave me information about the city that I did not know. It was a small group tour but I was the only person so I really had a very personal experience. One thing to bear in mind you really do get so much to eat so bring a bag to take some back.

My wife Emma and I had the pleasure of meeting Tassos Tsikontouris he was perfect for the both of us. Funny, smart and laid back any aussies looking for a guide ask for tassos. We learnt about the traditional foods modern foods, Meanings of words. He could answer all our questions regarding just about anything. This is a definite must do tour.

Learn about Athens, Life, Food and the Culture

We met our guide Tassos at Syntagma Metro and proceeded through central Athens. We made stops to buy pies, coffee, loukamades, nuts, bread. We sampled meats in a butcher shop with a local liquor and later toured the meat, fish and fruit market. Tassos, a native Athenian gave us the history of the city and it's people. We went places and bought things that tourists would not normally do. Tassos purchased nuts, olives and finally lunch featuring souvlaki. We ended the tour visiting the busy shopping area Monistraki. You may come for the food, but you will get lessons in a way of life much different than your own. This was a treasure of a lifetime. Thanks Tassos.

Get ready for the Loukoumades!

Very detailed tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and the foods were authentic Greek foods. Bring a backpack to carry the foods that you can not eat.

Fantastic Food Tour!

Tassos T. was great! We started the tour starving and before lunch we were already full! Tassos is very knowledgeable and is a great host during the tour. He was able to tailor the tour while treating us to a great Greek experience. We cannot wait to return and hopefully do another food tour with Tassos as the fresh food was one of our main highlights during our time in Athens!

This was the highlight of our trip in Athens. The guide was informative and fun! We learned not only about Greek food but about Greece as well. Highly recommended!

Food tasting walking tour in Athens

Great day with Tas and all the delicious Greek food. We spent the time walking the streets in Athens and visiting several local establishments and tasting the local foods. Very worth the price paid for the tour and Tas was a real pleasure to spend time with.

Nice experience

If you want to spend your morning slowly exploring the city with friendly and informative local guide just book this tour and enjoy. Everything will be good: selection of food, small eateries you will never find yourself and stories behind them. We felt that we know Tassos for years, with him we learned few Greek words that we enjoyed to use later during our stay. Thank you Tassos for nice experience.

Absolutely amazing!!

This tour was so great! I got to try some absolutely amazing foods and they were all from traditional stores in Greece. It was great to walk around Athens with a local seeing the amazing sites and eating food it was the best thing I could of done. My guide was fantastic as well it was a private tour and he was very welcoming and full of information. Thanks Tassos so much for the amazing day!
