Great guide and delicious food

Had an amazing time with our tour guide. She took us off the beaten path a bit and we had delicious food. She was very knowledgeable as she had a background in nutrition, so she did a great job explaining food and the history of it. She took us to a restaurants that were less crowded, which was nice as it let us experience what life is like for the locals. Highly recommend this tour if you want to have real Greek food and an off the beaten path experience.

Excellant Food Tour!!

Dimitria was our food guide, and my husband and I can say that she is indeed a food goddess! She was so informative on the food we sampled and was always willing to answer our questions. It is a LOT of delicious food. A tour we highly recocmmend. Well worth your money and time!

A Must Do in Athens

On my! This was an absolutely amazing tour with Helen. She is so full of knowledge, energy, and fun. She took us to her perfect spots for sampling so many different kinds of wonderful foods, treats, and coffee. We saw the Central Market, many different parts of the city, and learned so much because of Helen’s knowledge of the history of Athens. You eat, eat, eat and walk. This tour is something we all will remember. Thank you Helen for such an incredible time.

Authentic experience

Authentic Greek Food, what's not to love! Highly recommend the experience for those new in Athens. Great way to understand the delicacies. It starts off with small bites as you tour Athens, only to follow by a large restaurant sit down followed by a delicious Gyros!

Athens, Our favorite food tour!

This was by far the best food tour ever! Dorela was a wonderful guide and we would recommend this tour highly. We have done food tours in 5-6 different cities and we’ve never had so many varieties. A must-do in Athens.

Good, but not sure the gourmet bit is worth it

Knowledgable guide Tasted several local Greek foods (and drinks) , plenty to eat Only 3 stars not sure the difference between a normal and gourmet food tour, the final tasting of different olive oils & vinegars seemed a bit of an unnecessary add on And we had a daughter of one guest on our tour and they were unable to supply a non alcoholic alternative (apart from water)

Fantastic Walking Food Tour

Our guide Anna was fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was great to experience where the locals eat and there was plenty of food. We would highly recommend this tour, which was made more memorable thanks to Anna.

Best food tour!!!

This tour was such a great introduction to Greece and Athens as a city. I especially loved how all of the food locations we went to was out of the ‘tourist area’ so we got authentic Greek food, and lots of it!! Our guide, Anna, knew a lot about the different areas, dishes and restaurants we visited which added to the experience in gaining more knowledge about Athens. She was very knowledgeable about the history which added to the tour as well. It was such a great way to spend an afternoon in Athens and I will definitely recommend this tour to anyone heading there in the future. I suffer from coeliac disease and I found this tour great to do compared to other places in Europe. Greek food is easily changed to be gluten free or naturally gluten free so that was a bonus. However, I had to risk it to try the loukamades, I don’t regret it!!

Book this if you’re in Athens for over 2 days or if you only have a short time here, you won’t regret it.

Incredible experience. So thankful to have a local show us around this bustling city with tons of hidden gems. Our guide Lucy was the Best. I wish we had more time to hangout! She was so sweet, informative, and fun. There’s SO many sites and food joints in the city I was overwhelmed. Lucy really helped guide us in the direction we wanted to go for specific food items/places to visit. Hope to come back and see her again. I’d book another tour with her!

Delicious from the beginning till the End!

Eirene was by far the most fun and knowledgeable person. She was super friendly, patience and kind. She took us to many spots that me as a tourist would never find. Thank you so much beautiful! My first visit to Greece was a success :D

This was my favorite tour in Athens. Anna was the best! She was very courteous and friendly, and explained everything in so much detail. The food was excellent, well worth the money. Highly recommended.

Great fun - loads of delicious food.

This tour was one of the best things I have done on holiday - and I will do food tours again on my travels now, and hope that they are this good. First of all our guide Durella (apologies as I am sure I have spelled this incorrectly) was brilliant from start to finish, lots of explanation, great stories and even gave us an excellent recommendation for a restaurant later in the evening. There was lots of delicious food and drink, not a great deal of walking, but a superb way to try to immerse yourself in Greece and Athens in particular - so much better value than a guidebook. 100% recommend.

Really fun food tour

This was a really fun tour that took us to great places we would not have otherwise found. Our guide, Anna, was full of enthusiasm, informative and an absolute delight to be with. I would highly recommend this tour.

So much food too sample!

Great tour around Monastiraka area in Athens and super host. Sampled more food than we could eat; you definitely need to go hungry.

Excellent dinner option

The tour was amazing. We did it our first night in Athens after flying overseas. We knew that we would be tired and figured this was a great way to handle dinner our first night in the country. It did not disappoint. We had a nice walking tour where our guide told us about the different parts of the city. We continually stopped for heavy snacks and learned about the food--olive oil, Slouvaki, local pizza, etc. We ended with a meal with a wide variety of Greek foods. Our guide shared the best sites for drinks while viewing the Acropolis, best ways to get around the city, and a list of local restaurants.

A must-go if you’re in Athens

This was the first organized tour we had done on any of our travels and, by the end of tour, I could not recommend this experience enough. Anna was absolutely wonderful, explained everything thoroughly, and offered an experience well beyond that which can be achieved through wandering by oneself. The food was great and well-rounded (pastries, snacks, coffee, etc), but definitely go hungry because you’ll be eating a lot! You’ll cover a lot of ground on this tour and get plenty of tips for activities and restaurants beyond the tour, as well.

Fun way to see the Greek night life and sample a number of tasty dishes!

This was a very fun tour and we tried a number of tasty dishes. Our host was very knowledgeable and tried hard to make the tour fun. It was a good way to see and experience a number of neighborhoods and the night life.

Do this first in Athens….

This tour was so enjoyable. Learned so much about Greek food and wine. Got to sample so much. Very generous with everything. Our guide Irene was a gem. Knowledgeable Funny. Excellent story teller. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Fun way to take a tour AND eat!

Do not eat breakfast!!! The food provided on the tour is more than an average meal, so save some room! The tour may be a bit much for anyone with mobility issues since the tour is held on a brisk pace.

Coffee, loukoumades, mezes, and gyros like you haven’t had before

Took a the food tour with Anabelia when we arrived in Athens to get the familiar with our surroundings. Heed the advice to come hungry— it’s a lot of food. What a lovely day and Ana was a superb guide! Our flight was delayed and Ana shifted to accommodate us, which was incredibly gracious. She was great at weaving in culture and history with the food tour. She was also very thoughtful about our pace — and what both we needed and what the schedule needed so we could see everything. Given we had just landed from an overnight flight, she started with some “pies,” which were all good — the chicken was out favorite—delicious! We toured the market (be prepared if your smell sensitive!), had AMAZING Greek coffee, and the best loukoumades ever. Mezes on the outdoor patio with, tasty zucchini balls, olives, anchovies, and more was a great next break. There were olives growing in the centerpieces. We ended the day with real gyros — and yes they do have French fries in them. Come hungry and ready to experience Athens! Ana was funny, engaging, informative and attentive — and also gave us wonderful tips for restaurants during the rest of our stay. Totally recommend!!

Excellent food tour

Excellent food tour. They warn you not to eat within 3 hours of the tour starting and there's a reason for this. There is so much food! You must pace yourself through the tour as otherwise you would be too full to try everything. There was such a great range of food to try from desserts, peanuts, olives, coffee, to a selection of Greek tapas, souvlaki and wine. Our guide (I think its Durella?) was excellent. She explained why we were at each stop and answered our random questions about Athens on the way. Would definitely recommend booking this tour - you would not be disappointed.

Εύγε! Walking Tour of Traditional Greek food.

Irene our tour guide was knowledgeable and down to earth. Her tour took us from snacks and sweets to coffee and wine, along with unique small plates of delicious traditional fare. We did not leave hungry. We left a little more educated about how Greece came to be known for their fare. Irene encouraged her group to get to know each other which made the tour more enjoyable. The tour company was also accommodating when were were running late to our meet up destination.

Adele (Joanna-Adelaida) Tour Guide and Food Amazing!

Adele gave the best tour. The food was plentiful as well as tasty! She was incredibly knowledgeable on everything Greece. Her English was very good and she had each restaurant set up before we arrived.

Great way to learn more about Athens & eat delicious food!

This tour was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Greece! It was a great introduction to some of the neighborhoods in Athens, and local food and restaurants! Our guide, Anna, was fantastic! Anna was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun -- and she gave us some great recommendations for the rest of our trip. By the end of the tour, we were stuffed with delicious food and felt like we got to know the city better! If you are looking for an activity in Athens -- book this tour!!

Great experience with a fantastic guide

This food tour was an excellent experience - our guide Ana was extremely knowledgeable both about the food we were tasting and about the city and the businesses we were visiting. She's clearly a friend of most of the local food retailers given how many people said good morning to her! She was great at keeping the group together and keeping us engaged, and we tried some absolutely fantastic food. Her recommendations for great restaurants/eateries were also really helpful for the rest of my stay in Athens. Highly recommend this tour if you want to try great food with a local guide who knows the best spots and will direct you to some hidden gems you wouldn't find by yourself.

Panos is a great guide!

Our guide, Panos, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took our group around Athens to enjoy some traditional and less touristy foods that would be harder for us to find on our own. He was charismatic and funny, and also accommodating to the needs of the group! It was very hot when we went and he gave us extra bottled water to keep our group hydrated.

My family and I went on the food tour with Anna as our guide. She was fantastic and fun and the food was not only delicious, but plentiful. Highly recommend!

Delicious Day Tour

This was a yummy food tour consisting of 5 stops. As you walk and explore Athens with your guide, you learn about the significance of food and how it relates to Greek culture. Our guide Anna was very knowledgeable and personable. She answered any questions we had and took time to explain the history of the restaurants/markets we visited. Bring your appetite because the tour covers everything from savory to sweet. We had to take some food back to the air bnb because we were so stuffed!

Wonderful event.

Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable. We got to experience so many different foods and drinks with our friends and made new friends along the way. The distance between stops was not too far and the amount of time at each stop was just right.

So glad we did this!

Our guide Andreus (sp?) was exceptional. He explained about everything we were enjoying and we learned a lot about Greek culture and the importance of foods- especially fresh unprocessed foods. Everything we tried was delicious and we enjoyed getting to know the other people on the tour. I highly recommend.

Foodie fun

We had a great time on our tour, come hungry! We got to try a range of food and enjoyed all of it. The last two stops were my favorite- the wine with food pairings then gyros. Despite the extreme heat, our tour guide got us seats inside with a/c when possible and plenty of water. Great for foodies looking to try a variety without tracking down each food on your own.

4 Hour Private Food Tour

Anabelia took us out on a 4 hour walking food tour, the morning of our first day. She was a very knowledgeable and kind hostess. We saw Greek coffee being made in the traditional method which was very insightful. We went to the Central market where we observed all the fish and meat and comings and goings, and got to try some nuts. We went to an area that has a wide array of olives to choose from. We had a meal that included meat, fish, olives, cheese, and even Ouzo! She took us to a bakery where we tried loukamades and got to watch them being made, which was really cool! And tasty! Our favorite food was the spanokopita, but everything was really great! She was very cheerful and a pleasure to spend time with. You can't go wrong with her as your tour guide. Efcharisto!

Can't Wait To Go Back!!

We ended our week-long visit to Greece with the sunset catamaran tour aboard the Caldera II with Mimosa and crew. Mimosa was great explaining all the different regions of the island and their history. We loved being able to jump in the water to cool off a few times and getting to know our fellow travelers. The meal that the crew prepared and served was delicious and the wine was flowing as we watched a stunning sunset. Highly recommend!

So much delicious food!

We certainly left this tour very full and very satisfied! So many different food stops, all with something delicious to try. It was also fun to be able to go through the different markets as well. Extremely well organized and a great way to be able to try lots of food. The wine and olive oil section of the tour was also an added bonus.

So glad we did it!

Anacichinelli was a great guide to an amazing world of shopping and food. There was so much good food mixed with knowledge of the neighborhood and history of Greece. Everywhere we went we were greeted warmly and given the best treatment, you can tell the company is respected.

This was an excellent tour! Our guide, Anna, was full of information and warmth. She really introduced us to Athens through food. Our bellies were stuffed by the end, so take things slowly. We loved the education and enjoyment she brought to our time in Athens. Highly recommended!

Great way to start in Athens

Fun! We learned about local foods, hot spots, and different drinks to try. There was a mix of street food and high-end delights. The local coffee was terrific. Recommended for first-timers starting their trip. Definitely should arrive hungry.

Amazing food tour, well worth every penny!

This was by far one of the best tours we did in Athens. The food was delicious and our tour guide was personable and made sure everyone felt included. She even remembered all of our names and where each of us came from! This tour is well worth the money and you definitely leave super full. So glad I chose this tour for my family and friends.

Food Glorious Food

We did the walking good tour and it was fantastic ! Between the Greek coffee brewed in warm sand , the fantastic sample of typical Greek food and of course wine it was great! Our guide was knowledgeable but also friendly and warm. If you love good don’t miss this tour!

Fantastic walking tour, excellent guide, well organized

We did the gourmet food tour with Irene (Eirini). First of all I must say what a terrific guide/host. Irene was so engaging with everyone in the group, providing some really interesting background to the food, and some of the sights as we wandered around the city. She certainly has a brilliant ability to connect with people - Thank you Irene, you made the tour a piece of perfection. The tour itself was very well arranged, touching on some delectable Greek foods, in places where you'd never expect to find them. A good variety from savoury to sweet, coffee to wine, and olive oils to vinegars. There's some there for everyone. Really well worth the time and money. Top rated experience!
