Not to be missed

Our tour was led by Georgia, it was interesting, informative and very enjoyable. Georgia was incredibly knowledgeable and encouraged questions, a real asset. The history of Whisky and the work that is involved in producing it will certainly make me savour a dram or two from now on!

Drams and cheese

This was a surprise birthday treat. The pricing was fair and the tasting offered cheese and biscuits to accompany your drams. We were offered a distillery bespoke tasing of a 1999 cask which was wonderful. They also offered a drivers dram package which meant everyone got to enjoy the day. Wonderful day out. One point to note.. take a coat as the tour was cold!!

A We Spot 😉

A lovely we spot with culture and soul. Here you will enjoy some outstanding Whiskys. The distillery's carbon footprint is almost down to Zero which is quite different to others.

An amazing experience

Went on this tour yesterday with 2 friends and my husband, Ross was our tour guide who was brilliant. He was very knowledgeable, engaging, interesting and informative. The tour covered all aspects of the distillery process and concluded with 3 large drams to sample. One of our party was driving so they put the drams in bottles to take home to try later. We ate lunch in the cafe after the tour which was delicious, the only disappointing thing was they had sold all the scones and we were desperate to try them, we should have bought them before our tour! We bought gifts in the shop afterwards which were reasonably priced. I highly recommend this tour, it was an amazing experience.

Fantastic Experience

Cameron was our guide and he was great, the tour was excellent and all of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I work for Dewar's at another site and it was great to find out more about the history of the company. Would highly recommend taking the tour, even for a non whisky drinker, we had 2 people in our group who had never tried whisky before and they both enjoyed the tour and the tasting.

Picturesque setting, informative tour guide

Informative tour, charming distillery, nice shop. Some whiskey on sale only available at the Distillery. Be aware that signage in the town of Aberfeldy for the Distillery is lacking. We drove past the turn at the main intersection in town, with no signs advising which direction the Distillery was. We were late for our pre booked and paid for tour. Luckily we were allowed to join just as the tour started.

Excellent tour

Got given a whisky connoisseur tour for a birthday present. It was an excellent experience and the whiskey was fantastic. Cameron the tour guide was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. I fully recommend a visit!

Informative and fun

It was fascinating to see the elements of the process. The tour guide was informative and answered any questions. If booking the experience with 6 extra tastings, I'd recommend the food pairing, which included local produce of very high quality. It's a great idea that any samples of whisky can be taken away in small.bottles - essential for drivers and helpful for others. The staff all seem to know their favourite whisky !

Well worth a visit

Our guide, Roy, was very informative and approachable. We really enjoyed our experience and found it really interesting - even although one of us is not a whisky drinker. We would highly recommend this tour but would advise booking in advance.

A great, informative experience!

The tour was very informative and the guide clearly passionate about whisky and Dewars. No photos inside which is unfortunate and possibly avoidable as the tour we took at another distillery allowed pictures (they had a sensor the guide wore). The tastings were paired beautifully with specialty chocolate that, unfortunately, is not available for sale. I appreciated the small discount on purchases due to having done the tour.

A wee dram... and then some

Fantastic tour with our brilliant guide Roy adter a lovely greeting from Bruce at the ticket till. Could tell that Roy loved his job, was knowledgeable and liked his whisky. He was very good to us as my partner forgot he was ment to wear his lanyard as part of the extra tasting I'd bought for him (from the cask) and even treated us to an extra couple of wine barrel matured whiskies. The only thing I would have liked more of is more time during the self guided part of the tour through the distillery exhibition but that's probably because I'm nosey and like to take my time. A brilliant experience and my partner enjoyed his early birthday present.

An experience not to be missed

Absolutely fantastic tour - an experience not to be missed if you are in the area. Kat the guide was so friendly, knowledgeable and answered lots of questions. The staff in the visitor centre were all so happy and helpful - they very obviously really enjoy their jobs. My mum and I had a wonderful time.

Great tour, even greater tour guide

My boyfriend and I attended the tour while on holiday in Loch Tay. Although I myself am not a keen Whiskey drinker despite my boyfriends love of the spirit, as tickets are only £15 for the basic package we decided to give the place a chance. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised by the modern design of the reception/cafe, and enjoyed a light lunch before our tour began (cannot recommend the brownies and scones enough!). We were given our tour of the facilities by Ian, who we cannot fault. His knowledge on the process, combined with the passion he very clearly has for his job made for one of the most entertaining, enjoyable guided tours I have ever been on. Ian also made sure to crack a few fun jokes, as well as do some light translation work for the rest of our group, the majority of who were French. Overall, an absolutely great facility with a lot to offer (those who are driving can even take their drinks away with them), which is only made better if you're lucky enough to have Ian as your guide! Would highly recommended the distillery as a must-see if you're in the area.

Unnecessary comments during tour

I wanted to enjoy this tour, but sadly, I didn't. The tour is broken up into a few sections... Like many tours, you begin with a short film in a theater. The short film briefly discusses the history of the company. Next, a door opens automatically. No tour guide was around, so we all blindly shuffled into another room, which is apparently their museum. You are supposed to use the app to self guide your tour through the history of the company in this room. In my opinion, it was boring and dull. We were all alone in this room, so the group just stood around until our tour guide appeared. Next, our tour guide, Ian, took us on a tour of the distillery. He began the tour with some brief history in the company (now our third time hearing the history). For some reason, Ian felt the need to share his disgust of Trump before we even started the tour, which was totally inappropriate and unnecessary. He brought it up twice during the tour, which soured the entire experience. Last, you finish with the tasting, which was, again, mostly self guided. Casking and maturing are all done off site. You don't get the whole experience here. I have been to numerous distillery, brewery, and winery tours. Skip this one.

Comfortable, good value for money and amazing friendly and helpful staff

Cameron was an amazing guide - friendly, funny and very knowledgable. Despite not being much of a whisky drinker I really enjoyed the tasting sessions at the end. Thoroughly recommended.

Fascinating & well worth a visit

Such an interesting tour and a fabulous place to visit. We visited with our 4 year old and had a great time and learned so much. The museum is fantastic: the history of Dewar’s is fascinating. It’s a great idea to have ‘takeaway’ samples for the drivers, really fab idea. The shop, cafe and bar are gorgeous: would highly recommend a visit here. Ian was a brilliant tour guide and great with the kids

A great day out

I have been to a few Distillery's before, including a short one to Dewar's in the past, however, this one offers a bit more. There is a museum which was very interesting. The tour by Ross was very informative and friendly. I would highly recommend a visit

Fantastic Experience

A thoroughly enjoyable and informative afternoon hosted by Sol. She provided a valuable insight into the production of whisky including anecdotes regarding the 'angel's share' The virtual tour was followed by a very pleasant time sampling various 'wee' drams !! The driver package was very much appreciated especially the labelled, screw capped bottles to take away. A nice touch A return visit is a must

Excellent experience. Had a brilliant time in our tour with a brilliant tour guide, Sol! So enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We had an excellent experience on our stag. Would 100% recommend, especially if you like whiskey!

Best place to spend your 80th

A fantastic day at distillery. Blending tour was amazing. Ronda, Sol and team treated us very well on the occasion of dad’s 80th birthday. Lovely lunch and even if you are not a whisky fan the food is great.

Excellent tour from Sol, followed by a few choice drams at the tasting bar. A great afternoon enjoying whisky :)

Scots Law!

Visited as part of the connoisseur tour for the 3rd time (but the 1st time we've managed in to the stills area due to Covid). This time we were educated by Ian (what a tremendous bloke) and his take on Scots Law! As always, we were left smiling and with more wonderful memories and knowledge. The tastings were magnificent (such quality) and I cannot speak more highly of Ian and, of course, the rest of the Dewars team. I highly recommend this tour and I will be back again when next in Aberfeldy.

Amazing Experience

A Great Day Out

Historic and genuine tour that gets to the heart of true whisky

Really enjoyed our recent tour of the distillery and the great value for money it offered. Visitors centre is excellent, tour guides very knowledgeable, great to see something that is less commercialised than others we have been to and the chance to taste straight from the cask should not be missed. Distillery is steeped in history and awards, all of which is in the quality of the end product that can be tasted at the end of the tour in comfortable surroundings followed by a lovely cake and coffee in the cafe and a nice bottle or 2 to take home from the shop. The driver take away option is a great idea as you can still sample the whisky and then take the rest of your taster home to try later. Will definitely be back next time we are visiting Scotland, currently at home tasting the 12 and 15 year old malts and the White label blend I purchased. Perfect.

Worth the Visit!

This is a beautiful distillery. The price was reasonable and included a whiskey tasting. Our guide was informative and friendly. We learned a lot and really enjoyed the experience.

Fantastic tour, loved learning about the history of the distillery, the family history and the range of Whisky on offer, I did the Connoisseur tour which is great value in itself and our tour guide Ian was a fantastic character, truly passionate about the distillery and its roots.

Staff is nice. Selvig Is a rockstar. We talked scotch wine. She did her job well. An experience I will never forget in which she made way better. Aberfeldy dewars keep Selvig give her a raise do what you can. You are all great. Selvig you ever come to nyc or Myrtle beach. Hit us up. Be well.

Fun way to spend a few hours and have a few drams

A great day out

We liked everything but we especially liked being taken around by Roy, our guide. He told us lots of interesting things about the process of making whiskey and the Dewars, he looked after us during whiskey tasting and was just overall attentive and helpful. A remote well managed distillery with fantastic maintained facilities. The sense of arrival lives up to the Promis later delivered. Great tour and tasting , will come def back with friends

Experience Dewar’s

Dewar’s Experience with some films and museum. There is lot to see if you decide to do a distillery tour. You start with a film, then get some time to discover the museum ( next room) and the you have to switch your mobile off. I don’t know who first had the idea that a distillery will explode ignited by a mobile phone? In the old bonded warehouse you are visiting afterwards you are allowed to switch your phone on. There isn’t almost any whisky in. Dewars is one of the middle sized players, which got famous for blended whisky. Aberfeldy distillery is only one part of Dewars. This whisky tour is about blended whisky and a bit about the single malt. That’s a difference to a lot of other distilleries and interesting. It depends on your bought ticket which whiskies your are going to taste, but you can add some more drams in the shop if you like. By the way there is are drivers set and if you get hungry there is a cafeteria at the shop.

Good value and informative

Excellent experience. Informative guide (Michelle) and good tour ending in the whisky and chocolate option. All very good value and well presented. Café excellent and well priced for cakes and snacks. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you could walk from Aberfeldy.

Bruce has been very passionate and insightful! Loved the overall experience and had the chance to taste a cask strength that was simply mind blowing! p.s. my wife couldn't join last minute and they offered me to refund the price of her ticket...real gentlemens

Worth a visit

We booked the connoisseur tour and loved every minute. From the moment we stepped in every member of staff greeted us with a smile.We started with a short video in the auditorium and then moved on to the distillery museum. There is a QR code which gives you lots of information to accompany the different parts of the museum exhibits. After about half an hour we were greeted by Roy, our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. It was a really interesting tour of the distillery and a lovely history lesson also. We were given a sample from a cask of 23 yo whisky 59% proof. This had to be tasted once we’d finished the tour so not to kill our tastebuds for the other tastings to come. At the end of the tour we were taken back to the bar/cafe/shop area. We had 5 different samples to taste along with the 23yo whisky from earlier. Roy give us advice on how to taste each whisky and how to add water to help with the flavours. Being the designated driver, I was given tiny bottles to put my samples in so I could savour them later. We were also given a whisky glass to take home. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the tasting session and left the distillery very happy. We can thoroughly recommend doing a tour, hopefully you’ll be lucky enough to have Roy as your guide.

Don’t miss and ask to be guided by Ian!

We were a family of four (parents and 2 teenagers) from Israel. We had a great experience at the distillery! Ian the guide was delightful, full of knowledge about the distillery and presented everything in such a humorous and fun way, we had a great time with him! Highly recommended!!

So so worth it

Had a great experience with Roy today! Very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions about different elements of the distilling. Lots of different media to engage with along the way. Roy spent extra time engaging with our group and was very happy to provide new tasters that weren’t included in our experience package because we were so interested. 10/10 experience and would wholly recommend!

Great tour

Very enjoyable tour

This was our 2nd visit, the first being last summer. There was more to see this year as Covid restrictions were lifted. It is a very interesting and friendly experience. Our guide, Roy, was excellent, very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable.
