A definite must!

Our tour guide, Bronwyn, was an amazing guide. She was knowledgeable beyond the typical tour guide and had a great sense of humor. She knew so much about the buildings and people who were involved, and I highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Aberdeen for the first time.

Great mix of history and street art

Great wee tour, our tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable about the city. 1.5 hours is perfect for what we learned. She covered a good bit of history and I loved the street art ascept.

Bronwyn is so knowledgeable about the city and the history. We love Aberdeen and stayed for over a week. We wished we could've stayed longer. This tour I highly recommend.

Good not great

City Centre is dirty, sketchy, and run down. Really disappointed with how Aberdeen has fallen down (and not picking itself up). Tour was fair.

Great Aberdeen walking tour

Bronwyn was an excellent guide. She is very passionate of her city. Showed and explained a lot of the history of Aberdeen. Worth the time to take.

Wonderful tour

Wonderful tour giving us the history of Aberdeen that we would have otherwise walked past unaware. Our guide Bronwyn was very knowledgeable and had extensive notes. Also had the ability to deal very politely with a couple of drunks who gatecrashed the tour! It rained most of the time but that just adds to the Aberdeen experience.

Recomendable tour for first time visitors to Aberdeen

Our guide was there in time, very friendly and shared a lot of knowlege about Aberdeen and its history and art. We coukd ask her all our questions and discusss interesting topics with her. The area that was covered seemed a bit small to us and we could have done with more walking to see more places, but that is certainly a very individual thing.

Loved the little men everywhere, really enjoyed reading about the ordinary people who achieved greatness and also the stories behind the various sculptures and artworks throughout the city.

90 minutes well-spent

Bronwyn was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who loves showing people around her home town. We had only a few hours in Aberdeen before catching our ferry to Shetland so it was a great way to get an overview of the place.

Nope! Unless golfing

Unless you're there to golf at the 5 star beautiful course and hotel, not really getting much out of the downtown area. Go on to Dingle for the good food and shopping experiences.

Excellent, Enlightening, Experience!

Fascinating walk ‘n talk tour from Bronwyn which was so interesting I barely noticed the heavy rain. Lots of history and some appealing modern art works were included. I got the impression Bronwyn was genuinely keen on her subject (s) and does some research herself. Where information was inconclusive or there were opposing views on historical points she gave us balanced information to consider. Great tour for any thinking person who’s curious to learn more, quickly, about this super city.

A must-do

We made a last minute decision to visit Aberdeen for the day and I am so glad we booked this tour. It meant we got to see the whole city and understand why the graffiti is important and spot art we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Ours tour was led by Bronwyn who was great and so funny! She had the right amount of detail and told us some r amazing stories about the city’s past. If you’re visiting Aberdeen, its well worth the time to book this tour. Thank you Bronwyn!

Lovely tour of the most significant buildings and areas in the centre - interesting stories and background. V reasonable cost and easy walking. Loved the public art pieces many of which we certainly would not have seen / noticed outwith the tour. Highly recommended!

We found out about numerous people and events that happened in the city that we knew nothing about despite living not far away. Our guide was friendly, enthusiastic and really interesting.

Good introduction to Aberdeen

We were shown round by Dave, an Aberdonian who knew his city and clearly loved it. The walk took in the old and the new as well as some unfathomable planning decisions! It was just the right length and has made us want to come back and visit the various museums as well as Old Aberdeen. Dave had an interesting anecdote or memory at each stop as well as a few words in Doric to liven things up. I would recommend these tours as a great way to get to know Aberdeen and I’m only sorry we didn’t get to spend longer there.

Completely changed the way I see Abedeen

Brilliant way to spend a Sunday afternoon. It completely transformed my first impressions of the city. The guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable, skillfully blending distant history with current events and culture to create a well rounded picture of Aberdeen and its people.

An enriching walk through Aberdeen!

The guide, Steph, was engaging, knowledgeable, and has a wonderful sense of humor. She shared a delightful mix of information and stories about Aberdeen’s history, architecture and art, especially street art, with an emphasis on “Nuart.” The time with Steph was well spent and memorable. So glad I got to meet her and see Aberdeen with her.

Poor timing

We didn’t take the tour! We got in to Aberdeen at 0130a.m. It was cold and windy and rain. Tour did not happen

Davis was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable. Tour was quick and the right amount of walking. Well worth it.

Pleasant visig

Covered some interesting sites. I was especially grateful that the young lady (sorry I didn't get her name to compliment her) spoke loudly and clearly for all us seniors. Made sure every one was following along and understanding the stories.

Nice introduction to town for first time visitor

Nice meeting location at the visitors center for the city. Tour covered many of the historic sites in midtown, and covered both history and contemporary city information. Our guide was a lovely young lady who was easily heard over the sounds of the city.

Unexpected

Aberdeen had a surprising past that we dont read in the guide books and we got a taste on this tour. This walking tour is recommended For example we saw awareness of the past, which was not necessarily pretty and the present .

Aberdeen, Scotland tour from Azamara Pursuit cruiser On August 9, 2023 our cruise ship docked in Aberdeen. It was not a planned stop. Due to the extremely high winds (up to 52 knots) and waves reaching 6 meters, Captain Antonio changed our itinerary to avoid cruising a long time under the very rough sea conditions. It was still very challenging not only for the passengers, but for the crew as well. Aberdeen greeted us with sunshine and calm seas. The biggest issue for the cruise management was to arrange shuttle buses for the unplanned stop. So, in the morning we experienced a long wait to get into the shuttle bus for approximately 20 min ride to the Union Square from where we were able on foot easily reach most of the points of interest. Some passengers went direct to the large shopping mall across the street. My wife and I spent couple of hours just easily strolling the Union Street and adjacent streets and returned to the point of shuttle pickup. The shuttle bus with capacity about 50 passengers could not accommodate all people waiting in line and some needed to wait for the next bus. The closer to the cruise departure time, the more people needed to wait due to the limited buses availability. People did not complain and appreciated the unplanned limited bus service arrangement. For ourselves we made decision a long time ago to reach our cruise ships not later than 2 hours prior to cruise departure on any sightseeing not sponsored by the cruise line. We had another good, albeit not planned stop. Good Travels

Interesting and informative.

A really good introduction to Aberdeen. Our tour guide, Willow, was very pleasant and welcoming. She was very knowledgeable and was happy to share as we walked at a steady pace around the centre of the city. The route was largely flat and firm underfoot. We enjoyed our introduction to Aberdeen.

Fiends for Life: Free Dark History Tour of Aberdeen

Hollie took us around Aberdeen's dark and ghoulish secrets and told us the stories behind the history, politics, debauchery and even some phrases we use in today's language that came from macabre practises on the 16-17 century Scotland. It was fascinating listening to Hollie. Thoroughly recommend her free walking tour!!

Highly recommended, interesting mix of street art & history.

Only a small group of five people on the tour, with tour guide Willow who was entertaining and very informative, able to answer everyone’s questions. The tour took 90 minutes, a nice mix, for us anyway, of history of the city and some street art installations that you wouldn’t necessarily notice. Absolutely flew by. I’d recommend it.

Intersting Tour of Street Art, with a bit of History

The guide was very knowledgeable about the art and had worked out a great tour for looking at the street art. She sprinkled in history with the tour. Very interesting. She was laid back and answered questions fully, which we appreciated. Well worth doing!

Interesting story telling of Aberdeen.

My wife booked the tour for us and our two teenage daughters, following the nuart Aberdeen and dark history experience. It is very informative and the guide (Willow) was very knowledgeable about the art that we were being shown, and the shady history of Aberdeen's city. Our group was small (2 couples alongside us) but the guide kept us interested all the way through. Definitely recommended if you're interested in the history and art of Aberdeen. It would be interesting to see the other tours that are available also.

Bronwyn was an excellent guide who added to our knowledge of Scottish history generally and that of Aberdeen. The tour was well worth the cost

Lovely but narrowly focused tour

Aberdeen is a lovely city, and we had a wonderful day for the walking tour. The tour was mistitled. The history sections were thin and not presented in a sequential manner. But far more time was devoted to the city's public art, which was interesting but neither as excellent nor unique as the guide implied. Much of it was mundane and even uninteresting. I finished the tour with a limited understanding of the city's history and way too much about a limited public art initiative. This said, the guide was charming and well informed.

Wonderful intro to Aberdeen

A great way to find out more about Aberdeen. Lots of interesting history and facts from our wonderful guide. Loved the public art and enjoyed hearing about all the initiatives to bring art to the city. It was a super enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half!

Time well spent

Time well spent with Willow as the guide in this walking tour of Aberdeen. We learnt about some of Aberdeen's mediaeval history as well as more recent history and contemporary events in this walkable and interesting town.

Great city walking tour with street art angle

We did our tour on July 1st with Steph and it was an absolute pleasure: she is very passionate about Aberdeen and she shared places and stories we would have never discovered on our own. Steph showed us unique street art and provided insightful commentary on history of the city. The tour is well timed and well organized, it was really a great way to learn about Aberdeen in a short time. I highly recommend this tour!

Informative, Easy Tour of Downtown Aberdeen

My friend and I booked this tour, because we were in Aberdeen for one day and knew very little about it. We were not disappointed! Bronwyn was our guide, and we spent 2 hours learning about the city & seeing a lot of public art in the process. It's an easy tour, meaning not too strenuous for two 70 year olds to keep up with and enjoy. I snapped lots of interesting photos, and we learned enough to revisit a few select sites when the official tour ended. Highly recommend!
